We are less than two months from General Election Day on November 7th. If you aren’t already, now is the time to get registered to vote. Here’s what you need to know to get started.

WHAT?
You will be voting for candidates for your local government this November. Ballots may include candidates for city council, mayor, school districts, fire districts, and more.

WHY?
Registering to vote is the first step in making your voice heard in the upcoming election. Local elections determine who will lead your community, neighborhoods, and schools for the next several years. Registering to vote means that you get to have a say in your community’s future!

WHEN?
Washington voter registration is open until eight days before Election Day – October 30th.
Idaho voter registration is open until 25 days before election day – October 13th.

HOW?
If you live in Washington-
Registering to vote online is quick and easy! To register to vote online, check/update your current registration, and learn what’s on your ballot, go to Voter.VoteWA.gov

If you live in Idaho-

  • Idaho voters must now provide proof of identification and residence when registering to vote. If you do not have a valid form of identification, you can request a FREE voter ID card or sign a Personal Identification Affidavit. Click here to learn more about voter identification requirements.
  • Registering to vote online is quick and easy! To register to vote online, check/update your current registration, and learn what’s on your ballot, visit VoteIdaho.gov.
  • If you prefer to register to vote in person or by mail, fill out an Idaho Voter Registration Form and either mail or deliver it to your county. County addresses can be found on the Voter Registration Form.
