What is Telehealth?
Telehealth is the use of technology, such as video calls, phone calls, or secure online messaging, to provide healthcare services remotely, allowing patients to connect with healthcare providers without visiting a clinic in person.
CHAS Health provides telehealth services to support community health and well-being. Telehealth makes it easier for patients to access care when traveling to a clinic is difficult due to transportation barriers, work schedules, caregiving responsibilities, illness, mobility challenges, or geographic distance.
How Does Telehealth Work?
Telehealth appointments allow patients to receive healthcare services remotely through secure video or telephone visits. Depending on the appointment type, visits may be scheduled online, through the patient portal, or by contacting CHAS Health directly.
Medical & Behavioral Health Video Visits
Patients can use video visits for primary care and behavioral health from the convenience of their own home. You can still visit your provider and get the care you need without traveling to the clinic.
Should You Use Video Visits?
A telehealth visit may be a good choice if you are unable to travel, have a busy schedule, live far from a clinic, or simply prefer to meet with your provider from home. Some healthcare needs require an in-person visit, and you may need an in-peson visit if you are seeking care for one of the items below:
Services Requiring an In-Person Visit
Bodily Injury
Eye Injury
Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI)
Ear Pain
New Abdominal Pain
Abscess
Labor & Industries (L&I) Visit
If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911
What to Expect
Once your appointment is scheduled, you will receive text notifications confirming your appointment and a link to complete pre-visit tasks. A few minutes before your appointment, you will receive a message with a link to join the video visit.
If you experience technical difficulties before or during your appointment, visit our support page or contact CHAS Health for assistance. A patient portal account is not required to participate in a telehealth visit.
