Health Insurance Enrollment Assistance
At CHAS Health we know that navigating the healthcare system can be challenging. That’s why CHAS Health Patient Resources Coordinators (PRCs) are available at each of our clinics to help you when you need it the most.
How To Contact a PRC
PRCs are available over the phone or in person at any of our clinic locations. You do not have to be a patient of CHAS Health to speak to a PRC. Call us at 509.444.8200 or 208.848.8300 or schedule a meeting by clicking the link below.
Here Are Some Services That Our PRCs Can Provide:
Insurance Enrollment and Renewals- PRCs can help you enroll or renew your Medicaid or Qualified Health Plan in Washington or Idaho.
Medicare Referrals - PRCs can provide you with referrals for Medicare experts to help you choose the right Medicare plan for your unique needs.
Community Resources and Application Assistance- PRCs can assist you with finding community resources or applying for programs like food assistance or energy assistance.
Understanding Services at CHAS Health- PRCs can educate you on the services that CHAS offers and help you understand the cost of your care.
CHAS Health Sliding Fee Discount Program- PRCs can help you apply for the CHAS Health Sliding Fee Discount Program, which can help reduce the cost of your care at CHAS for those that qualify. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to apply for the Sliding Fee Discount Program, regardless of if you have insurance or not.

Happening Now
You can enroll in Apple Health (WA Medicaid) or Idaho Medicaid at any time. Open enrollment for low-cost insurance through WAHealthplanfinder or YourHealthIdaho is generally Nov 1 – Dec 15. You may be able to enroll in low-cost insurance if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period, or if you qualify for Cascade Care Savings (if you live in Washington and are under 250% of the Federal Poverty Level).
New Options for Coverage
Starting November of 2023, everyone who lives in Washington state will have the opportunity to buy health and dental insurance through Washington Healthplanfinder, regardless of immigration status. The Cascade Care Savings Program helps families under 250% of the Federal Poverty Level save money on their premium costs when purchasing a health plan.
Coming Soon!
In July of 2024, the Apple Health Expansion program in Washington state will provide Medicaid equivalent coverage to low-income uninsured adults who do not meet the immigration requirements for federal assistance.
Due to a limited budget, the Health Care Authority (HCA) needs to manage the number of people who can enroll into the program to ensure clients receive the highest value care possible. HCA plans to enroll up to 13,000 people into Apple Health Expansion.
Enrollment spots will be saved for the following groups:
- Qualified Health Plan enrollees who are eligible for Apple Health Expansion
- Clients transitioning from AEM coverage
- Clients enrolling through Apple Health application systems
- Including Washington Healthplanfinder and Washington Connection
