Program Highlights
The Explore Program offers students six total weeks of unpaid job shadowing, either in the fall or the spring. Two of the weeks are spent with administration departments, and four weeks in CHAS Health clinics. Job shadows take place from 3:30 – 5:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Benefits include:
- An inside look at a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center (FQHC).
- Exposure to many different clinical and non-clinical roles.
- Discovering what healthcare pathways most interest you.
- Opportunities to become certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR.
Student Requirements
Eligible students must be juniors or seniors in high school with a GPA of 3.0 or more. Students with a GPA under 3.0 may be considered with a statement of support from a recent teacher or counselor.
Participants must be able to commit to attending all six weeks of job shadowing and have transportation to job sites by bus, car, or riding with parents.
