"Being a First gen student, I did not know much about college, but I knew I wanted to become a therapist. I loved working as a student clerk because it allowed me to build wonderful connections within the clinic. Working with our patients reassured my desire to work in the healthcare field. One of the BH Providers became my mentor and still is to this day. He advised me on what path to take and what license to strive for. 4 years later, now that I’m a senior in college, I am applying to grad school with his guidance. Even though he no longer works at CHAS, we continue to be in contact, and he continues to advise me in any way he can. I have moved out of the clinical setting, but I still miss the patients. Becoming a student clerk paved the way to my current position and has allowed me to continue growing at CHAS."Alondra Morando, former Student Clerk
"I walked into the working world as a student clerk at the age of 17, unsure of what my future looked like and feeling a lack of purpose and direction. Now looking back on my 5-year journey with CHAS health, I could not imagine my life going any other way. CHAS Health has since offered me an array of professional skills that have left me with confidence not only in my work but myself as an individual. As a student clerk, I found my purpose quickly within the organization as I was making connections with our patients and found the determination to make an impact within our community. Since day one of stepping foot into CHAS, I have always felt encouraged and inspired by my peers and administrators. I would highly encourage any individual who is wanting to make a difference in our community to apply. I would have never known the influence I could make, had it not been for CHAS health. The experiences I have gained while working here, and more importantly … the lasting impact it has left with me is something I will always be grateful for."Samantha Kaufman, former Student Clerk
