General Election Day on Tuesday, November 3. If havent yet, now is the time to get registered to vote. Here’s what you need to know to get started.
WHY?
Registering to vote is the first step in making your voice heard in the upcoming election. Local elections determine who will lead your community, neighborhoods, and schools for the next several years. Registering to vote means that you get to have a say in your community’s future!
WHAT?
You maybe voting for candidates for federal, state and local government this November. Ballots may include candidates for U.S. senator, congress, state representative, local government, judges, school districts, fire districts, and more.
WHEN?
Monday October 26 is the deadline to register or update your address online in Washington. You may also register and vote in person at a county voting center through Election Day.
Idaho voter registration is open until Friday October 23. For Idaho, qualified individuals may also register and vote at their designated polling place on election day.
HOW?
If you live in Washington:
Registering to vote online is quick and easy! To register to vote online, check/update your current registration, and learn what’s on your ballot, go to Voter.VoteWA.gov
- If you prefer to register in person or by mail, fill out a Washington Voter Registration Form (you can also request a form by mail) and either mail or deliver it to your county. County addresses can be found on the Voter Registration Form.
If you live in Idaho:
- Idaho voters must provide proof of identification and residence when registering to vote. If you do not have a valid form of identification, you can request a FREE voter ID card or sign a Personal Identification Affidavit. Click here to learn more about voter identification requirements.
- Registering to vote online is quick and easy! To register to vote online, check/update your current registration, and learn what’s on your ballot, visit VoteIdaho.gov.
- If you prefer to register to vote in person or by mail, fill out an Idaho Voter Registration Form and either mail or deliver it to your county. County addresses can be found on the Voter Registration Form.
