Changes are coming to Apple Health (Medicaid) and Idaho Medicaid starting this fall. With these changes, some adults age 19 to 64 may need to meet new requirements to keep their Medicaid coverage.
What This Means for Medicaid Members
If you currently have Medicaid coverage, you may receive requests from your state’s Medicaid agency asking you to:
• Complete a renewal application
• Verify household or income information
• Provide additional documentation
Tips to Stay Covered
• Update your contact information. Make sure your state Medicaid agency has your current address, phone number, and email.
• Watch for renewal notices or requests for information.
• Respond by the due date if additional information is requested.
Medicaid Work Requirements
Some adults enrolled in Medicaid will need to meet new community engagement requirements, also known as work requirements. If these apply to you, these requirements must be met in the one month before applying in Washington and three months before application in Idaho.
Work requirements are met when an individual meets one of the following
• Has at least $580 in monthly household income, or $580 average over a six-month period for seasonal workers
• Participates in a work program at least 80 hours per month
• Completes at least 80 hours of community service per month
• Enrolled in an education program at least half-time
• Has a combination of hours of work, community service, work program, and/or educational program totaling at least 80 hours per month.
