Street Medicine & Homeless Outreach
At CHAS Health, our outreach and street medicine teams work hand-in-hand to support individuals experiencing homelessness throughout the Spokane area. Our outreach team is dedicated to connecting people—especially those newly experiencing homelessness—with the best available resources. We collaborate closely with numerous partners in the Spokane Homeless Coalition and other local agencies to ensure that individuals of all ages receive the support they need. Our mobile team members conduct site visits, meeting clients where they are to provide personalized assistance.
Complementing this effort, our street medicine providers deliver compassionate, on-the-spot care to some of our community’s most vulnerable individuals. Since August 2021, CHAS Health staff have been offering high-quality medical services in less-than-optimal conditions, operating Monday through Saturday from our Mobile Med office at Lidgerwood. These providers focus on immediate needs such as wound care, injury management, medication access, and referrals to CHAS Health clinics.
Recognizing that many unsheltered individuals face complex challenges—including behavioral health issues, substance use, and chronic conditions—our street medicine team works to stabilize patients in the field. With the support of outreach workers and community partners, we aim to build trust and improve health outcomes. Ultimately, our goal is to enhance quality of life and open doors to long-term solutions like permanent housing and employment.

CHAS Homeless Outreach Services
- On-site visits to shelters and meal sites
- Follow-up care/visits as needed or necessary
- Counsel clients as appropriate and/or on request
- Case management for clients in various situations
- Provide clients with the seasonal gear, i.e. hats, gloves, socks, coats, blankets, water, ice, towelettes, band-aids & more

Homeless Memorial
Every Year on the Winter Solstice, CHAS Health marks the first day of winter and the longest night of the year remembering the lives of those who have passed while experiencing homelessness. The event serves as an opportunity to raise awareness for those experiencing housing insecurity and a call to action to end homelessness.
