CHAS Health provides telehealth services to support community health and wellbeing. Telehealth is the use of digital information and communication technologies to provide healthcare services. Patients can connect with providers via video to access needed care. With CHAS Health Video Visits, you can have a secure appointment using your mobile device or computer.
Accessing Healthcare with Video Visits
Accessing quality healthcare is more important than ever, especially for individuals with limited mobility or who live in rural areas. Often, the most vulnerable populations may opt to defer treatment of medical, behavioral health, or dental need based solely on the inability to make the trip into a health clinic. The global pandemic has increased the difficulty of health care access and discouraged many from receiving the help they need.
What is Telehealth?
CHAS Health’s mission statement is to improve the overall health of the communities we serve by expanding access to quality health and wellness services. Telehealth helps us accomplish this goal and uses electronic devices to connect patients with healthcare providers from remote locations. This allows patients to use a mobile phone, tablet, or laptop computer to meet with their doctor in the comfort of their own home. If video visits are unavailable, providers can sometimes use a traditional telephone to meet with patients.
How Does Telehealth Work?
CHAS Health offers several types of telemedicine services to its patients using the CHAS Health App. This app can be used to schedule video visits for medical, behavioral health, urgent care, and dental evaluations. Established patients can call CHAS Health to enroll in our telehealth program and will receive an email invitation to log in. Patients can use a mobile phone, tablet, laptop, or telephone to meet with their provider.
Urgent Care Video Visits
Anyone needing help with urinary tract infections, pink eye, and respiratory issues would be a perfect candidate for an urgent care doctor visit. While some medical conditions would require an in-person visit, many conditions can be properly diagnosed over video chat without the patient ever leaving their home.
Medical & Behavioral Health Video Visits
Established CHAS Health patients can request a video visit with their doctor or provider. Occasionally, patients need to meet with a provider but run into obstacles such as transportation, childcare, or quarantine. Online doctor visits help connect medical care to patients, wherever they happen to be. These flexible visits also work well for patients that experience anxiety or feel more comfortable in their own home.
Dental Video Visits
There are many dental conditions that can be diagnosed using telemedicine. These include dental pain, trauma, swelling, and bleeding gums. CHAS Health offers easy and convenient teledentistry services to established patients in the comfort of their own homes.
