More to Know

Doug is a Licensed Professional Counselor. He has worked with felony diversion court programs as a counselor, addiction counseling, and mobile crisis counseling (with and without law enforcement). He has worked at the state mental hospital for persons needing acute psychiatric care and has counseled persons with a range of issues through health and welfare. He enjoys helping people find their voice, understand themselves, and create a sense of inner safety to help them move forward in their lives. He is passionate about community and believes communities benefit from connection and empathy towards each other.

Doug specializes in stress and traumatic stress. He is comfortable with many forms of therapy and likes to list and describe modalities for patients to help inform the modality best suited. Doug, above all else, wants people to feel seen (without feeling pressure or judgment), heard (without feeling exposed or coerced), and valued at all times.

Doug enjoys reading new studies and theories of mental health. He enjoys the outdoors, connecting with the community, spending time with family, and painting when he has a chance.
