As a Community Health Center, CHAS Health’s mission is to improve the overall health of the communities we serve by expanding access to quality health and wellness services. We understand that a healthy community is more than a location on a map with high immunization rates and easy access to care. Healthy communities are built on partnership, relationships and shared action. CHAS Health sponsors organizations and events enriching to our region and our employees, who support the health of our communities at our day jobs, also volunteer to reinforce the health of our region as a larger organism beyond the betterment of a single individual.
Spokane Valley Nonprofit Business Showcase
On December 5th, Johnnie Beans & CHW Tamera Ringquist participated in the 2025 Spokane Valley Nonprofit Business Showcase. The Nonprofit Showcase brought together over 40 nonprofit organizations from the Greater Spokane Valley, fostering community engagement. Attendees explored volunteer opportunities, connected with leaders, and supported important causes. CHAS Health was sponsored this year by Baker & Construction!
Neighbor Fest at EWU
CHAS Health was able to participate in EWU’s 2025 Neighbor Fest event, which was a high-energy kickoff event that connects students with over 190 campus clubs, departments, local businesses, and community organizations. Held each September on the campus, it features live music, free food, giveaways, and interactive booths—all designed to help students build connections, discover resources, and feel at home at Eastern Washington University.
CVS Back to School
On Tuesday, August 12th, Ashley Mendiola (PRC) and Johnnie Beans represented CHAS Health at the Central Valley School District’s Back to School Resource Fair held at University High School. They had the opportunity to connect with nearly 600 students and families, sharing information about CHAS Health services and helping attendees access the care and resources they need. The event provided a meaningful chance to support families as they prepared for the new school year—healthy, informed, and ready to thrive.
Medical Lake Founders Day
CHAS staff Mailey Gross and Misty Mee attended the 2025 Medical Lake Founders Day Celebration, a vibrant family-friendly event that honors the city’s founding in 1890, where they were able to engage with 100’s of individuals.
CHAS at Juneteenth Celebration
CHAS Health staff members Johnnie Beans attended the Juneteenth celebration at Grant Park on June 19 and was joined by Julia Sheafor at the MLK Center on June 21, 2025.
Northeast Youth & Family Services Spring Market
CHAS recently participated in the Northeast Youth & Family Services 2025 Spring Market which is dedicated to connecting the community with resources they may need and not have been able to reach. Julia Sheafor and Johnnie Beans participated/tabled, and tours of the mobile unit were given as well.
Chazzy Visits North Central HS
Chazzy recently stopped by our SBHC Clinic at North Central High School and couldn’t resist taking a picture with our friends!
Latah County Dental Education
CHAS Health employee Mickey visited the Latah county library in March to provide dental education to kids and their families!
CHAS Hygienist Visits Colfax Library
Dental Hygienist Mickey from the Latah Clinic went to the Colfax Library and participated in their Story Time to teach preschoolers about how to properly brush and take care of their teeth. He even brought “Flossasaurus” so that kids could practice.
Raze Early Learning Center Event
CHAS Health employee Johnnie Beans recently attended Raze’s groundbreaking event on their new facility! Tentatively opening in September 2025! Mayor Lisa Brown was in attendance, along with City Council President Betsy Wilkerson, amongst many others.
2025 MLK Day Resource Fair and March
Johnnie Beans was thrilled to have the incredible opportunity to participate in the 2025 MLK Day Resource Fair and March. It was a wonderful success with a fantastic turnout! The event was a true celebration of community spirit, unity, and the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Johnnie is so honored to have been there to celebrate and represent CHAS Health!
Pumpkin Lane 2024
Staff from North County Clinic handed out candy at the annual Pumpkin Lane celebration in Deer Park. It’s a great way to connect with the community and share what services we offer to the community.

The CHAS Health Idaho Mobile Med team attended the Lewis-Clark State College Fresh Check day on September 25.
Settlers Day 2024
CHAS Health staff participated in the Settlers Day Parade in Deer Park Washington! Their dental themed float helped encourage residents to take care of their teeth and visit CHAS Health clinics!
YMCA Health Kids
CHAS Health was happy to staff an information table at the recent YMCA Healthy Kids Day. YMCA Healthy Kids Day® is the Y’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids and families. For over 30 years, the YMCA has hosted this free community event aimed to inspire kids and families to keep their minds and bodies active throughout the summer months and beyond.
Serving Dinner at Lewiston Salvation Army
The CHAS Health Mobile Med and Street Outreach teams recently helped serve dinner at the Lewiston Salvation Army in SoCHAS. We love helping our community partners!
NAACP Healthcare Committee
On May 25, CHAS Health staff member Johnnie B. tabled with the NAACP Healthcare Committee, which CHAS Health is a member of, and was able to interact with NAACP leaders and community members and provided them with information on services and career opportunities.
YWCA Color Run
On Saturday, May 18, CHAS Health Mobile Med Clinic and staff attended the YWCA color run. Employees helped with the first aid station and also staffed a water station along the course!
