Circle of Security
Parenting Program
Open to Parents of CHAS Behavioral Health & School-based Patients
Circle of Security is a visual tool designed to help caregivers understand and respond to their child’s attachment needs, fostering secure attachments and emphasizing that all parents are “good enough.” The program offers a new perspective on parenting, focusing on building positive relationships rather than using correction or discipline.
This group aims to help caregivers reflect on their actions and meet their children’s need, with facilitators trained to support caregivers through their struggles and histories of trauma. Based on principles that highlight the importance of secure attachments, Circle of Security aims to prevent future psychopathology, promote social competence, and enhance emotional regulation.
