Syrene Lawal has more than 20 years of experience teaching educators and practitioners how to integrate outcome research into clinical practice. She has authored multiple textbooks, book chapters, and peer-reviewed articles, and has presented nationally on effectively translating Evidence-Based Decision Making into practice.
Syrene served as a Clinical Instructor at Washington State University and was a member of the university’s Scholarly Project Committee from 2021 to 2025. She has also demonstrated a strong commitment to professional leadership through her service with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Washington Chapter, where she served as a District Liaison, Co-Chair of the Membership Engagement Committee, and Eastern Washington Representative from 2021 to 2023.
Passionate about education and community impact, Syrene enjoys teaching and contributing to meaningful change at both the individual and community levels.
