Accessibility

Our Commitment to Access

CHAS Health is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all patients, families, and community members, including individuals with disabilities. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we strive to provide equitable access to health information, services, and technology in support of our mission to improve the overall health of the communities we serve.

We are actively working to ensure that our websites, digital tools, and online services are accessible and usable by everyone. CHAS Health aims to follow recognized accessibility best practices and guidelines and believes accessibility is essential to quality, patient‑centered care. We welcome feedback and view accessibility as an integral part of serving our communities with dignity and respect.

Accessibility Standards

CHAS Health's digital accessibility standards conform with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These standards define requirements for developers and content creators to improve accessibility for people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities, to help make content:

  • Perceivable (information can be perceived in different ways)
  • Operable (interface components are navigable and usable)
  • Understandable (content and operation are clear)
  • Robust (compatible with assistive technologies)

Commitment to Quality Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing effort at CHAS Health. We routinely review our digital content and work to identify and address accessibility barriers. This includes:

  • Incorporating accessibility considerations into design and development
  • Using tools and testing methods to evaluate accessibility
  • Training staff involved in creating digital content

While we strive to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards, some content may not yet fully conform due to legacy systems or third‑party tools. We are actively working to improve these areas. Please reach out if you have questions, concerns, or need further assistance.
