Dr. Fernandez graduated from the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, and completed his training in emergency medicine at Bellevue Hospital in New York City. He has practiced emergency medicine for over 20 years. He earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Columbia University and a Master of Science (MS) from Boston University. Dr. Fernandez retired after 20 years of service and worldwide assignments in the U.S. Navy Reserves; he is also a veteran of the war in Afghanistan. He is a devoted husband and father. In his spare time, Dr. Fernandez enjoys kayaking and fishing, although he’s much better at looking for fish than actually catching fish.
