More to Know
Dr. Caquias obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology and mental health at the University of Puerto Rico, and her doctorate in clinical psychology from Puerto Rico’s Ponce School of Medicine and Behavioral Sciences in 2010. She is a licensed mental health counselor in Washington state and is certified to provide services in both English and Spanish.
Dr. Caquias bases her therapeutic approach on the biopsychosocial model, focusing on holistic care and utilizing evidence-based therapies for treatment. She passionately believes that providing proper education and technique to her patients is the key to improving their symptoms and self-perception. Dr. Caquias facilitates the therapeutic process by respecting patients as experts on themselves, promoting opportunities to look for more permanent and relevant alternatives.
Born and raised in Ponce, a small rural community in Puerto Rico, Dr. Caquias grew up with animals, big trees, creeks to swim and play, and a huge, loud family. She is married and has a blended family of four adult children, two grandchildren, and one fur baby. When not working, she enjoys exploring Washington, traveling to see her children (or anywhere with her husband and fur baby), cooking, reading, hiking, and chilling by a lake
