Spokane Arena Mass Vaccination

The mass vaccination clinic at the Spokane Arena is a collaborative effort between the Washington State Department of Health, Spokane Regional Health District, the Washington State National Guard, the Spokane Public Facilities District, and local healthcare organizations.

Vaccine appointments for the Spokane Arena location are managed by the Washington State Department of Health. Current Vaccination Qualifications in Washington State

People who qualify for the COVID-19 vaccination are those in phases 1a and 1b:

  • People who are 65 and older
  • People 50 and older who also live in a multigenerational household
  • Health care workers
  • First responders
  • People who live or work in long-term care facilities
  • All other workers in health settings who are at risk of COVID-19

Scheduling Your Vaccination

Patients MUST have an appointment to get a vaccine at the Spokane Arena. If they don't have an appointment they will not be able to get vaccinated.

Individuals should not receive the vaccine at the centralized vaccination site without prior clearance from an allergist if:

  • You have experienced an immediate allergic reaction to any vaccine (respiratory distress within 4 hours of injection) such as:
    • wheezing
    • hives
    • mouth or throat swelling
  • You have had allergic reactions to any vaccine, including injected medication, polysorbate or polyethylene glycol. 
  • You have received any vaccine within the last 14 days. Please schedule your vaccine appointment outside that 14-day window.

What to Expect at Spokane Arena

  • Arrive at the Arena a few minutes before your vaccination appointment to complete the check-in process.
  • Use the Boone entrance to the Spokane Arena.  A greeter will direct you to the check-in line where our staff will confirm your scheduled appointment and direct you to the parking area.
  • Once inside the Arena, you will receive a COVID-19 screening questionnaire and be directed to the waiting area to receive your vaccine.
  • Individuals should plan to wait for 15-30 minutes of observation after their vaccination. This is a great time to sign up for v-safe from the CDC and schedule your second vaccine appointment.

What to Bring

Please note that there will be metal detectors at the entrance of the Spokane Arena.  In accordance with the Spokane Arena's Policies, please plan accordingly and leave weapons of any kind at home.

Paratransit Options

Patients who meet testing criteria and who need transportation assistance can use paratransit for transportation once their appointment is scheduled:

  • Paratransit door-to-door service is available for anyone over 60 with proof of ID.
  • For those over 60 who do not have a paratransit bus card, it is $2 each way, $4 for round trip. Cash only. For those with a paratransit bus card, there is no additional cost.
  • Patients can call 509.328.1552 to schedule a paratransit ride once their vaccine appointment is scheduled. Please schedule at least one day in advance.

If you did not sign up for your second vaccine while at the arena, please check the paperwork you received at the mass vaccination site for instructions on how to schedule this.
